Top Post By lamed (1 thumbs up):
Recently I received an email teaching from a Ministry headed by a man who refers to himself as a Rabbi (further than that I do not wish to identify the person as the identy is irrelevant). What bothered me about this "new teaching"!!! was that when giving a Scripture reference to 2nd Corinthians the man wrote 2 CoriYah. Frankly I was
speachless, some might say 'gob smacked'.
It seems that there is a growing trend to try to fit YAH into every title and every name. The question is by doing so
are we in danger of breaking the 3rd commandment? We are told not to take THE NAME 'in vain' (KJV) rendered
'to naught' in The Scriptures.  The Hebrew word is "Shav" defined by Brown-Driver-Briggs as, 'emptiness, vanity,
falsehood, nothingness, emptiness of speech, lying, worthlessness"
Now my understanding is that the letter to the Corinthians was written to a group of followers in Corinth.
Corinth being a Greek city had a Greek Name. THE NAME being Hebrew does not fit into a Greek name even though the people to whom the letter was written were followers of YAH.
By trying to fit the Name of Yah into the a Greek name is our enthusiasm for HIS NAME getting so out of hand that we are in danger of making THE NAME so common that we bring it to NO ACCOUNT? And thereby break the 3rd Commandment??

To revive, promote or not??

July 18, 2009 by lamed

I haven't posted on this forum for sometime.
In fact we have pretty much ignored it.
I don't seem to be able to find a way to actually simly cancel it,
but we are not to happy with some of the advertising that is done through this site. It also seems there is no way to control that.
So here we are, trying to decide whether to promote the forum
or abandon it. I don't really want to leave it floating in cyberspace with
Yahuwah's Name attached to seedy advertising with no comment on it.
There again I'm quite off - promoting it for the same reason.
Oh won't it be great when Yahushuah takes over and such problems will no longer exist.

We hope to have the new page "The Name of our Yasha" published in the next week or two,

Re: Questions?

September 20, 2008 by lamed

Batyah, I'm sorry that happened to you. If that were to happen here I would use my "lamed" to deal with it.
If you do not know the answer, then there is no such thing as a stupid question.
One would hope that the gentleman in question was just having a bad day;and that is not his usual behaviour. However that is no excuse for being so off hand and rude. We all had lots of questions
when we first started out, and we still all have lots of questions, the only difference is that, now they are
different questions.Smile You ask all the questions you like Batyah.
If you are concerned about getting off topic, you could always use your question to start a new topic.
Shalom.

Welcome to the forum of YHWH His Great Name.

Set Apart use.
